How to Convert Images to a Single PDF File

By Abid · August 10, 2026

Photos of documents pile up fast. You've got six shots of a signed form, a folder of receipts for an expense claim, or a passport and a utility bill that someone needs as one attachment. The Image to PDF tool turns them into a single document with each image on its own page.

Why a PDF rather than a folder of photos

Images sent as separate files arrive in whatever order the recipient's email client feels like showing them, open in a different app each time, and print one per sheet with no control over the result. A PDF fixes the order, opens the same way on every device, and prints as one job. Most upload forms also accept a PDF and reject a pile of JPGs.

How to build the document

Open the tool and select your images in the order you want them to appear - the selection order becomes the page order. Press Convert and each image becomes a page in a new PDF, ready to download.

If your files are named sequentially, sorting the folder by name before selecting them saves rearranging afterwards. Phone cameras usually name photos in the order they were taken, which is often the order you want anyway.

Getting a readable result

Photograph documents straight on, in even light, and fill the frame with the page. A sharp, well-lit photo stays readable at print size; a dim one taken at an angle doesn't, and converting it to PDF won't rescue it. If the order comes out wrong after converting, the PDF Page Reorder tool will sort it without redoing the whole thing.

Page size and orientation

Each image becomes a page shaped like that image, which is usually what you want and occasionally not. A set of phone photos taken in portrait gives you tall pages; mix in one landscape shot and that page is wider than the rest.

For anything that will be printed, that inconsistency shows. If the document needs to be uniform, crop or rotate the odd ones out before converting rather than trying to fix it afterwards - a PDF page cannot be reshaped once it exists without rebuilding it.

File size is the other thing to watch. Modern phone photos are large, and ten of them make a PDF that will not go through most email systems. Check the result with the PDF Info Viewer before sending.

Common questions

Which image formats can I use?

JPG and PNG, which covers anything from a phone camera, a screenshot or a scanner.

Can I mix portrait and landscape photos?

Yes. Each page takes the shape of the image on it, so a mixed set simply alternates.

Does converting reduce image quality?

The images are placed into the document as they are, so what you put in is what you get out.

Will the text in a photographed document be searchable?

No. A photo of a page is a picture, so the words in it are pixels rather than text. The PDF to Word Converter can read them with OCR if you need them as text.

Can I put several images on one page?

Not with this tool - each image becomes its own page.
